Getting Motivated Again
After I finished my 10k I decided to give my body a bit of a break from the intense training. Let my knees have a little rest and relaxation. I've been going to the gym and I've been watching what I eat but....it's not good enough and I've definitely not been as committed as I could be and should be.
I keep saying "well the great news is, my summer clothes fit!" Which is true and frankly, they fit comfortably so, I managed to maintain year over year. I really need to get back into tracking calories with my fitness pal and making sure I get exercise 3-4 days a week again. I'd really appreciate mother nature helping me out and not have the rain start right when I get home from work most days (it's getting on my nerves.) I want to keep my running up but, running in the rain isn't something that I enjoy and I have had just about enough of the treadmill at the gym (I do hit the treadmill if there have been too many rainy days.) Jeff and I did get out for a run this weekend, 6.7 km circuit at the cottage. I had to walk a little as my side stitches decided to creep up on me again. I have to say though, running at the cottage is no joke with all the hills. Constant hills. I feel like I never actually get to go downhill... ever.
Speaking of running, we are doing Colour Me Rad again this year, on May 31st, there will be lots of fun photos to come from that I'm sure! This year our team has grown to 19 people which is going to be so much fun. Our colour bomb explosion is going to be incredible. Most of all, it will be a lot of fun to get out with friends and get a little exercise while we are at it.
I need to keep working at this, keep moving ahead. Making sure to stick to my new habits and not fall back on old ones. Keep making sure that my hard work was worth it, and that I can in fact, keep it off for more than a year as I enter year two of maintenance. Year two, I'm coming for ya!
